The Light in the Darkness è un'installazione imponente, ed al contempo effimera, che vuole essere una risposta artistica alla devastante catastrofe che ha scosso Valencia il 29 ottobre 2024.
L’installazione è composta da una sezione centrale a pianta rettangolare concepita per essere osservata da tutti e quattro i lati e per essere percorsa interamente. Lo spazio si articola attorno a 18 totem scultorei, come fossero candelabri a grandezza uomo, che proiettano luce su una superficie che evoca fango e acqua e che rinforzano la simmetria visiva. Questa reinterpretazione del materiale ceramico propone un nuovo modo di esporre il prodotto, conferendogli significato grazie alla varietà di dimensioni, texture e colori. La palette cromatica delle piastrelle ceramiche è dominata da tonalità effetto terra che richiamano l'argilla e il fango che hanno ricoperto i comuni colpiti.
The Light in the Darkness is a monumental yet ephemeral installation that serves as an artistic response to the devastating catastrophe that struck Valencia on October 29, 2024.
The installation consists of a central rectangular section designed to be viewed from all four sides and fully experienced. The space is structured around 18 sculptural totems, resembling life-sized candelabras, which cast light onto a surface that evokes mud and water, reinforcing the visual symmetry. This reinterpretation of ceramic material offers a new way of displaying the product, giving it meaning through a variety of sizes, textures, and colors. The color palette of the ceramic tiles is dominated by earth tones, evoking the clay and mud that covered the affected communities.
